I am a fine art photographer and making art is my passion. I love to create images that speak to people but I’m not always aware of my creative processes. I like to work in the presentation of my art and I tend to use different media to support and to print on, getting different contrast, textures, etc. I enjoy working in both large and small formats.
I lived in Havana for 10 years and my work was deeply influenced by the simplicity of the people, their every day life and the light of the city. I print some of my work on steel. This material play with the light, relaying on the amount, direction and angles. I also liked to print on canvas, its texture provides a painting-like look to the photograph.
In 2008 I arrive to Miami where the colors and the light appeal to me, always on simple elements. That is why I notice Miami Beach huts. I presented this work mixing individual beach huts photographs printed on paper with other two medias, wood (bamboo) and resin, to make some joyful and simple beach huts compositions. Two years ago, I started a documental project in which I explored the world of spirituality through different religions with their expressions of devotion, passion and surrender. All of them reach the same purpose: GOD. This black and white artwork I print it on fine art cotton paper.
